Welcome to Almost Ancient Pots

A number of years ago, I stumbled upon something new while looking for a class for continuing education units for my horticulture certificate. The time fit my schedue, and off I went to Leu Gardens in Orlando, Florida to take a class in something called Hypertufa.

Two hours into the day, I was hooked. That was nine years ago. I held my first workshop the following year, and soon started making pots for retail sale through local festivals. In 2009, the circle was complete as I returned to Leu to teach. 2009 also set a record with over 130 students in workshops!

I'm still hooked on Hypertufa, and I think you will be, too. The pots are rustic and natural, and they provide a perfect growing environment for your herbs and plants.

Look around my site. There are lots of pictures of my pots, but the gallery never includes everything and is never quite up to date. Check my schedule and come by a show or the arts market.

Look for a class at your local botanical garden or come down to Florida and join one of my workshops. The joy of being in Florida is that I work and teach outside year round.

Visit my Events and Workshop pages. And check out my Links to some friends, festivals and organizations.

Hypertufa is mud pie making for adults. It's great stress relief - mud therapy so to speak!

This is the "Brown Bag Year" at our house - looking for every way to cut expenses in this challenging time. For you, I have cut the cost of my workshops, without sacrificing the quality or the fun.

Stop and visit my little garden. I am part of an international organization (see links) that encourages everyone to slow down and visit a peaceful garden. If you can't stop by, enjoy a quiet meditation with my online tour.

See you soon!
